ShopandScan Receipts is a new research project where specially invited individuals send us electronic copies of their till receipts from all their shopping trips made at supermarkets, high street and online retailers. If you have received an invite click here to register now.

How does it work?

If you have a compatible smartphone we will ask you to download a smartphone application that allows you to photograph your receipts and submit them to us.

Each time you make a purchase from a supermarket, high street or internet retailer you just need to take a picture of your receipt and send it to us using the app. If you do not have a compatible smartphone you can simply scan or take a photo of the receipt and send it to us at

If you receive an email receipt you can simply forward the email straight to us at

We may also occasionally send you extra questionnaires via the app to ask for more information about where you shop or the items you buy. The extra surveys will appear in the survey list when you load the app. For completing these extra surveys you will receive extra reward points.

Which receipts do you need?

Please send all of your retail receipts for the trips you make, including those for groceries, high street and internet shopping. For example, please include receipts for all of the following types of goods:

You do not need to send us your receipts for cafes, restaurants, pubs, transport or other services.

Please send receipts for your own purchasing only, not items that were purchased for you.
